Now Is The Time To Invest In Florida Land

The real estate sector is known for its unique set of trends and patterns. Prices of land are known to fall and rise very unexpectedly at an extremely high rate.

One of the most prominent areas to gain a sharp price in the recent years is the Florida Lots, which is widely being acclaimed as the best location to invest in. The Charlotte County in Florida is especially known to be one of the fastest growing areas in the United States.

There are a number of reasons for you to choose to invest in the real estate sector. The most important reason is that land is one of the rarest limited natural resources. Its prices are expected to rise in future, thus bringing handsome returns for the investor.

Investment in Florida Land

As per media reports, Florida vacant land values and especially those in Charlotte County, show a record increase of almost 100% over a period of 12 months.

Majority of vacant lots in Florida are in such surroundings that ensure maximum land appreciation. The main criteria based on which the Florida lots are designed include proximity to the ocean, great shopping, parks and golf courses.

The main region of Charlotte County itself has a number of county parks, waters and aquatic preserves, gulf coast beaches, shopping avenues, boat ramps and a number of placid harbor areas.

In fact, certain magazines have referred to Punta Gorda in the Charlotte County as one of the top five places to live in.

The coastal area in Charlotte County is especially a major attraction for the investor who is keen on lucrative returns.

Factors to Consider

Before you decide to invest in a particular Florida Lot, you will need to consider many factors.

The most important criteria you need to consider are the surroundings of the lot in question. You will need to carefully analyze your requirements and then decide accordingly. For instance, in case you intend to develop the particular lot commercially, the place should have enough facilities to support the same.

How to go about it?

To invest in Florida Land, you will first need to make a concrete list of the requirements you have in mind. Once you have done this, you can then contact your local real estate agent, who will guide you accordingly.

Alternatively, you can also do some simple research on the internet. There are a number of websites on the internet, which will give you a list of the vacant Florida Lots. Not only can you see a detailed list, but you will also find the most of the websites give a list of the surrounding landmarks as well. This further helps you to choose a Lot of your choice.

Frank Hearn is a down-on-his-luck bootlegger and bruiser looking for the big score in 1920s America. When he loses a shipment of top-quality booze to a double-crossing thief, Frank hunts him down, roughs him up, and finds something that catches his eye. What at first appears to be a scrap of paper is actually a handwritten and unmistakably authentic IOU for $7,000, signed by Babe Ruth. Seven thousand clams is a lot of money—and when Frank gets a tip that the Yankees are about to begin spring training in St. Petersburg, Florida, he wastes no time leaving New Jersey to track down the Babe. Frank thinks he’s covered his bases: Along for the ride is a dangerous and curvy blonde named Ginger DeMore. She’s smart, pistol-packing, and the perfect accomplice to help convince the Babe to cough up the dough. It seems like the perfect plan, but Frank and Ginger aren’t the only ones seeking their fortunes in St. Pete this spring. There are hustlers, gamblers, Yankee fans, and even a sociopath lurking in the booming burg—not to mention a team of gangsters (looking all over town for one curvy dame by the name of Ginger DeMore) sent by a prominent Chicago mobster named Al Capone. In this taut adventure story, filled with colorful characters both real and imagined, Lee Irby takes readers straight into the authentic heart of the Roaring ’20s, bringing to life all the sizzling style—from the slang and the fashions to the smell of bathtub gin. Worthy of a place at Elmore Leonard’s table, 7,000 CLAMS is an enormously entertaining tale and a superb fiction debut.

Born in Orlando, Florida in the mid 1960’s. I was raised in a small town that was sleepy to say the least, Apopka, Florida was as rural as the state of Florida could offer, as laid back as a town could be and as violent as any wayward city could suggest. That’s where I grew up. Apopka, Florida was not a place of great resources. I lived on the side of the tracks that left a whole lot to be desired. Outside of migrant work and flower nurseries, there was nothing big to employment Opportunities. My greatest childhood recollections of fun were, high school football games on Friday nights and family Excursions to Kelly Park (Rock Springs) Camping grounds to swim on weekends. I hated school but learned fast. And even though I rebelled a lot, I found that my mind was strong, my imagination was vivid and my views on life were huge. I wrote this book of poems because I knew that there was a voice, I possessed that needed to be heard. I’ve been through more downfalls and dealt with more drama than most peoples have ever had to face. Been to jail and to prison when I should have been on my way to college. Walked down dark roads and ran through fields all in a search for reason. I graduated in 1983 at 18years old. But my graduation Celebration was held in a Florida prison. The Department of Corrections has been blessed with my Downfalls. But now that I think about it, So also am I! I wrote this book out of strong feelings ,Deep studies, deeper convictions and beliefs that shaped who I am! The ramifications of my falling down and getting back up is what brought this extraordinary book to life. My faith in my creators’ voice and his divine grace and unending mercies have given me mypenmanship With a sound voice and strong mind. I Am Blessed! I chose this format to attempt to bless others now, with my gift of poetry and my insights on our planet earth as a struggling Black Man….The Author Billie Strong Jr.

When the widower dies mysteriously, everyone suspects the girlfriend, but Gin isn’t so sure. All she has to do is prove it–oh, and find out who did it. Before Gin can fit the puzzle together, another of the snowbirds is dead. The obvious suspect is Vinnie, the investment counselor who is a compulsive gambler, but neither his wife nor Gin believes he did the killings. Gin’s investigations reveal some secrets the snowbirds would prefer to have kept, but not in time to prevent yet another attempted murder. Broken Boys/Mending Men

Broken Boys/Mending Men

$19.58

Broken Boys/Mending Men awakens us to the realities of a grave situation: boys are the victims of sexual abuse. It is estimated that one in six males suffers some form of sexual abuse as a child or teenager. In most cases the victim knows and trusts the perpetrator – most often an adult or teenage male. Broken Boys/Mending Men, originally published in 1990, provides a frank discussion of the issue, describing the consequences of male sexual abuse and the ways that victims can find help in healing the pain.Candid first-person accounts illustrate issues commonly faced by males trying to deal with their early victimization – withdrawal, isolation, denial, the loss of security and self-esteem – and how society’s traditional view of masculinity acts as a barrier to their recovery. Stephen Grubman-Black offers hope and encouragement to victims as well as useful insights for parents, teachers and mental health professionals who want to know more about the effects and treatment of childhood sexual abuse.Stephen D. Grubman-Black teaches in communications studies and in women’s studies at the University of Rhode Island. He has offered workshops and trainings over the years for people affected personally and professionally by the traumas created by childhood sexual victimization.”I’m a mental health counselor in Miami, Florida and have been a fan of your work on adult male survivors of sexual abuse. I’m doing a presentation for my colleagues in June on the subject and plan on citing some information I read in your book Broken Boys/Mending Men. I can’t tell you how much I learned from that book and how much it has helped my past clients.”"Of all the books I haveread on the subject this is by far the best one, it goes to the heart of the matter. I am 44 and this is the most helpful book on the market, that I have come across.”"A very good book for all of us men who were sexually abused as children.”"This book cleared up a lot

Excerpt: Tampa Stadium – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Tampa Stadium was the Tampa Bay Area’s first large American football facility with an initial seating capacity of 45,000. It was built for the University of Tampa Spartans football team (replacing a much smaller on-campus stadium) with an eye towards a potential NFL expansion team in the future. Construction began in the fall of 1966 on a large grassy lot along Dale Mabry Highway near the center of Tampa. Directly adjacent was Al Lopez Field, the then-home of the Tampa Tarpons Florida State League baseball team and the spring training site of the Cincinnati Reds National League baseball franchise. Ample parking was available in large lots surrounding the stadium, as well as at nearby Horizon Park (now Al Lopez Park) and Jesuit High School. Two large concrete grandstands built along the sidelines provided the original seating. Benches were arranged on a single tier, so that every seat had a direct and unobstructed view of the action. The natural grass playing surface was highly crowned to provide rapid drainage during Florida’s intense thunderstorm, with the sidelines 18 inches lower than the center of the field. Due to the combination of spare design featuring unpainted concrete along with aluminum bleachers in Tampa’s climate, the stadium was a very warm venue for fans and players during the summer and early fall. Fans could retreat to the interior decks under the seats, where concessions and restrooms were located. Players and personnel on the field had no way to beat the heat except for the tunnels to the locker rooms, and cooling equipment was usually placed near the sideline benches. During the summer and early autumn, events were often scheduled for the evening hours to avoid the extreme … More:

From Yellow Dog Democrats to Red State Republicans: Florida and Its Politics since 1940

From Yellow Dog Democrats to Red State Republicans: Florida and Its Politics since 1940

$29.95

Likely to raise hackles among Democrats and Republicans alike, this dynamic history of modern Florida argues that the Sunshine State has become the political and demographic future of the nation. David Colburn reveals how Florida gradually abandoned the traditions of race and personality that linked it to the Democratic Party. The book focuses particularly on the population growth and chaotic gubernatorial politics that altered the state from 1940, when it was a sleepy impoverished southern outpost, to the present and the emergence of a dominant Republican Party.   In the twenty-first century, Colburn says, Florida is a dynamic, highly partisan, largely conservative state at the cultural, social, and economic intersection of the Western Hemisphere. But the transition hasn’t been entirely felicitous. Allegations abound that the state is a "banana republic" favoring the wealthy, a piece of paradise that embraces "immigrants, natives, seniors, rednecks, evangelicals, and yes, flim-flam artists and mobile home salesmen. All of whom came to the state looking for ways to improve their lot in life."   Colburn depicts the state’s colorful governors at the center of every postwar development from Cracker to Sun Belt politics, from segregation to integration, from boosterism and modernization to economic and environmental crises. As the story of one of the most influential states in the nation, the book redefines Florida politics.

 My Escape from Cuba

My Escape from Cuba

$3.99

Cuban-born Ozzie Sabina often asks himself, “What would life have been like if Fidel Castro had opened a law practice in Cuba instead of starting a revolution?” There’s no doubt Castro’s reign in Cuba changed a lot of lives, including that of author Ozzie Sabina. He escaped the country with his thirteen-year-old brother, William, in 1962 with the help of the United States and Operation Pedro Pan-a concerted effort that relocated more than 14,000 Cuban children. My Escape from Cuba is Sabina’s story of growing up in Cuba and his subsequent move to the United States when he was only sixteen years old. This memoir encompasses much of Sabina’s life: from growing up in a small town in Cuba, to his school days and his love of his close-knit family, to his first airplane trip to the United States, mastering the English language, and living with a new family in St. Petersburg, Florida.A compelling story that gives firsthand insight into what life was like in Cuba in the late 1950s and early 1960s; My Escape from Cuba shows the determination and courage of a young man making the most of his new life.

 My Mother Is An Astronaut

My Mother Is An Astronaut

About The BookThe book, “My Mother Is an Astronaut”, was inspired by the unexpected opportunity I had to observe the children of astronauts as they waited for their parents to depart for the launch pad on launch day. It was very exciting for me because it was the first time I was able to watch a Space Shuttle launch from Kennedy Space Center, in Cape Canaveral, Florida.I observed the Space Shuttle crewmembers board the Astronaut Transport Vehicle through a second floor window in the hallway that connected the astronaut’s living quarters to the general population of the building that I was working in. There were children sitting on the windowsill. I was told the children were watching their parents depart for the next Space Shuttle mission. It was the seriousness of their conversations and the excitement in their voices that inspired me to write this story. When the Space Shuttle returned to KSC. I was able to observe the children’s reactions when they saw their parents emerge from the ATV. One of the little girls started jumping up and down and waving as the ATV pulled into the parking lot. She started screaming when she saw them open the door to the ATV. A female astronaut looked up toward the windows on the second floor. Then the little girl pressed her face against the glass. The moment their eyes met, pure joy washed over both of them. I assumed the astronaut was her mother. As a mother it touched my heart so deeply that I almost cried. Then a uniformed Air Force Officer took the children by the hand and escorted them back to their quarters to be reunited with their parents.

The album title derives from Nas and Marley’s relationship, their shared African ancestry, and the shared ancestry of the entire human race; which musically and lyrically inspired each recording. Leftover tracks from Nas and Marley’s previous albums were originally planned for an EP based on Africa. After working together, the duo decided to record a full album together. Like many young adults, Sally Mae Evans didn’t realize the infinite dangers that exist online until it was too late. Teenagers are Internet savvy, but unfortunately, so are cyber sexual predators-and personal information can’t be torn up, burned or thrown away once it has been posted online. Law enforcement experts estimate that as many as 50,000 sexually violent perverts are online at any given moment, surfing those scantily clad photos and websites. That is exactly how “Avatar” found his next prospective victim. In spite of the warnings of her grandmother Eva Vickers, and Eva’s attempts to enforce parental controls for her granddaughter Sally’s safety, no matter how hard she tried, Eva couldn’t thwart all the sexual solicitations and dangers that eventually threatened Sally’s life.Eva and Sally are two hard-headed, passionate people who disagree on a lot of things until a serial killer and sexual deviant who is on the prowl in the small Florida town where they all live goes looking for innocence that he can steal away. Only he’s looked in the wrong place and messed with the wrong family this time.

Orchid Beach (Holly Barker Series #1)

$9.99

The Barnes & Noble Review Stuart Woods wrote one of the most serious and accomplished crime novels of my generation, Chiefs, a southern novel spanning 40 years and the lives of three police chiefs who must try to solve a brutal racial murder. It is elegant, elegiac, and powerful. It also inspired a miniseries almost as good as the book itself. If Woods’s work since then has been less daring and innovative, he has become a reliable purveyor of glossy beach books that are as much fun as movie popcorn. And Orchid Beach, the new one, is no exception. Former Army Sergeant Holly Barker is a witness in an Army sexual-harrassment case in which the old-boys network triumphs as usual. Holly knows that her military career is virtually over. The old boys will see to it that she’s never again promoted. She decides to take her dad’s friend up on his offer of making her deputy chief of police in Orchid Beach, Florida. My phrase “a reliable purveyor of glossy beach books” might sound slightly patronizing, but I don’t mean it to be at all. This one is put together with as much art and skill as far more “serious” crime novels. Woods is so smooth, so slick, he gives us a 40-page nonstop run that gets the novel going in high gear. Yes, Holly reaches Orchid Beach, but there finds that the chief who hired her is in a coma. Somebody shot him in the head the night before. She goes to talk to the chief’s best friend — and finds him murdered. What kind of town is Orchid Beach? What has she gotten herself into? Are any of these seemingly innocent people to be believed? Woods plays all hiscards. There’s romance, danger (a couple of big-budget Bruce Willis-like action scenes), and a lot of tartly observed characters who live in gated communities away from the riffraff. There’s even a dog, a winsome Doberman named Daisy, with whom Holly identifies innordinately (they’re both

Suspense wraps each page of Chip Ballard’s gripping novel, Peace River, set in the small, rural, central Florida town, Flowing Wells. This finely crafted whodunit keeps the reader guessing until the end as it hurdles through a tangled web of lies, deception, perversion, and murder. When the body of Pinewood County’s most promising senior, Sandy Carlton, is found face down on the bank of Peace River with a bullet in the back of her head, Pinewood County Sheriff Charlie Morris’s investigation takes him to a very dark corner of a sleepy Southern town. At first Charlie cannot imagine anyone having cause to kill the popular student. But soon he begins to realize any number of people could have wanted her dead, and even he is shocked at secrets that are exposed. Chip Ballard’s impressive first novel is murderously good. “Peace River” peers behind the calm facade of life in small-town Florida to find a deadly mix of drugs, greed, sex and high-school jealousy. This college girl goes on Spring Break to Florida hoping once and for all her virgin boyrfriend will have sex with her. When he gets too sunburned to move, an opportunity presents itself with another handsome guy. What to do? This is Spring Break after all…Excerpt: It was an exceptionally warm day. Memorial Day was only a week away. The unofficial start of summer. Shorts, T-shirts, and sandals showed up all around the campus, overnight. Many of these items came from Florida during our Spring Break. Daytona Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami and Orlando lettering, flowered across a myriad of pastel hued college spring break souvenir ware.My own pale yellow top sported the city name of Hollywood in a white script. Hollywood is just north of Ft. Lauderdale. If one blinks while going through it on Highway 1, one will miss it completely. The white lettering matched my shorts. I felt good about the way I looked. I was a part of the spring ritual and that, in and of itself, is a beautiful thing.I wanted to have sex on Miami Beach. I wanted to pen this in my diary with a flourish of artistic flowing script. I wanted to leave it exposed on my desk in the dorm so my roommate would peek into my world and see what I did. I wanted to write about screaming out in a release of pent up passion for the man I loved… But it didn’t happen.Vincent, my choice of a boyfriend, declared, “I want to go into my wedding suite as a virgin…” Then, he proceeded to drink more beer than Coors could brew in a week. Other guys drank a lot of beer too, but they were making love with their girls in between opening up six-packs. My girlfriend Sandy boasted that she was getting it (being fucked) seven times a day.Vincent introduced me to a sweet drink called, Mango Tea. They, Mango Teas, have a lot of rum in them, some cherries and a small tuft of whipped cream on the top. They are supposed to be an erotic drink — guaranteed — to get one laid?

Jack Vaughn was a New York cop for a while, but that didn’t end well. So he relocated to America’s sexiest city and became a personal trainer for some of Miami’s hottest hard bodies. In hindsight, he probably should never have gotten involved with Vivian, the footloose daughter of millionaire businessman Colonel Patterson. She ultimately dumped him for a pornographer, but Vaughn can’t seem to shake her family. And now the Colonel’s offering Jack one hundred grand to perform a “simple” favor: torch the yacht that’s floating in the waters behind the Patterson estate . . . along with the dead body that’s inside it. One hundred thousand is a lot of money, so Jack agrees. Which could prove to be the biggest mistake of his life, bringing the carefree, fun-in-the-Florida-sun lifestyle he’s learned to love to a very abrupt and very violent end. . . .

“Finally, a book that deals with stray cats; a how-to guide to trapping and dealing with a stray cat. As a pet owner, animal lover and director of a humane organization that deals with stray cats every day, this book gives us one more tool to offer to people who want to help the thousands of strays that wander our streets. Bravo!” Joseph J. Sprague, Jr., Executive Director, Tree House Animal Foundation”Tamara Kreuz cares about the plight of stray and feral cats and gives practical ways to help them. Individuals and shelters can benefit from this book. If those who find stray animals can themselves set about to help by finding homes for domestic strays, or by creating safe havens for feral cats, this will make life a lot easier for shelter personnel, who are all too often overburdened by the number of animals they receive. We highly recommend The Stray Cat Handbook.” Louise Holton and Becky Robinson, Co-founders, Alley Cat Allies: The National Feral Cat Network”This is a must read for those considering animal rescue work. The information and suggestions provided are first rate and are based on actual experiences.” ?Linda A.

The Comeback Kids, Book 7, The American Alligator

The Comeback Kids, Book 7, The American Alligator

$19.76

The American alligator (alligator mississippiensis) is one of two living alligator species and is native only to the, southeastern United States. The other larger living alligator species is the Chinese alligator. Alligators come to us from a prehistoric era which makes these comeback kids even more amazing! They survived their prehistoric relatives all the way into the 21st century in spite of being hunted for their skins and for meat by both natives to America as well as by those who settled here! Alligators are not an endangered species, but they are legally protected, and they are classified as threatened because they a lot look like the American crocodile, which is an endangered species. As a result of earlier unregulated and unrestricted killing of the American Alligator, the alligator population noticeably decreased. Hunting restrictions in the 1940’s and 50’s slowed decline, but illegal poaching during the late 1950’s and 1960’s resulted in further decrease in populations. Extensive poaching continued until 1970 when an amendment to the federal Lacey Act made the interstate shipment of illegally-taken alligators a federal violation. Combined with reduced demand for alligator skins (brought about by outcries for protection of the species during the [politically active late 1960’s and 1970’s) poaching was nearly eliminated. These photographs were taken near Fort Myers Florida in the everglades, where the American alligator continues its comeback. Once again, we had to do nothing except refrain from what we were doing to change the course of this keystone species.

The Red Hot Typewriter: The Life and Times of John D. MacDonald

The Red Hot Typewriter: The Life and Times of John D. MacDonald

$6.99

Although John D. MacDonald published seventy novels and more than five hundred short stories in his lifetime, he is remembered best for his Travis McGee series. He introduced McGee in 1964 with The Deep Blue Goodbye. With Travis McGee, MacDonald changed the pattern of the hardboiled private detectives who preceeded him. McGee has a social conscience, holds thoughtful conversations with his retired economist buddy Meyer, and worries about corporate greed, racism and the Florida ecolgoy in a long series whose brand recognition for the series the author cleverly advanced by inserting a color in every title. Merrill carefully builds a picture of a man who in unexpected ways epitomized the Horatio Alger sagas that comprised his strict father’s secular bible. From a financially struggling childhood and a succession of drab nine-to-five occupations, MacDonald settled down to writing for a living (a lifestyle that would have horrified his father). He worked very hard and was rewarded with a more than decent livelihood. But unlike Alger’s heroes, MacDonald had a lot of fun doing it.
